brrrrrr.......it's freezing........winter is here~~

After reading Gleefully's entry, I'm inspired to jot down some interesting phenomena in my workplace as well.

I currently work in Milk Despatch/Distribution under Pauls(or otherwise known as Parmalat.......that's right, the one that recently went bankrupt in Italy due to internal accounting fraud *another one*), doing general administration work, etc. Having had experiences in customer service and sales, I always thought that 'customers are always right'........okay, maybe not exactly that, but they should be treated nicely in any circumstances. Well, this job opened my eyes. It's normal for the guys (and lady) in despatch to go head to head with the 'customers' and not making much effort to provide services.  I was in shock for the first couple of weeks .

I guess one of the explanation could be that the guys are generally blue collar workers and so are the 'customers'. This is their way of communicating........ It's a little tempting to conform to that environment and start talking rough . I have to consciously control my thoughts after listening to the fifth person blistering the air with curses over some small minor event.

On a different note, the Coldroom is plenty of fun! I enjoyed myself immensely going through productions, distributions and putting together the whole process of milk supply . There's always adventures around every corner~

These days I'm determined to exercise at least once every week. Not really enough, but it's something anyway. Besides, doing sports with friends is much more fun than just sitting around drinking coffee (personal preference).

Last saturday ended up being a much bigger day than I expected though. In the morning was riding bicycle for 20km. That's ok. Even though the seat was really hard  (which made my bum ache like anything afterwards), the riding itself was quite pleasant. I wanted to ride alongside with the friends who came along, but the urge to push my limits made me left them behind . This taught me a lesson: when you want to go full-on for something, chances are you'll probably be alone for awhile.

With sore legs and bums the lot of us went for yum-cha in Chinatown. The food wasnt that impressive coz we found bugS (that's right, one after another ) in the dishes. But to the hungry stomaches, anything edible is a blessing.

Then i dragged the whole gang to a guitar sale . Wonderful friends, trying to help me find a guitar but too bad none of them knows anything about instruments . It was good fun though. I ended up buying a small bodied acoustic Cort with hard case for $600. (Plugged it into an acoustic amp on Sunday. The sound was beautiful! Money well spent~~ ).

After that we crashed the pool place in Milton (phew!) We all sucked at the game but it was good fun . It's not that embarrasing when the whole table all suck at the same time .

And you think that should do for one day. No~~ L suggested that we go and watch Troy that night. No objections. Fine. I wanted to try out my new toy (Cort), so I ended up playing for a couple of hours at N's place before we all depart for the Cinema.

Troy was good. It was 15 years ago when I read the story of Troy, the Greek myth version. The bulk of the story got left behind somewhere in my formative years and all I can remember is the pride, arrogance, self-centredness as well as corruption and the huge horse with people in it . Well, guess that's the important bits.........

I think that's the biggest day i've had in years............

Havent been updating my xanga for a few reasons:

1) I was slack;

2) Life's been full of events.......

3) My heart was a little troubled :(

But anyway, to make up for lost blogs, here's a brief account of my life in the past 2 weeks:

Workwise it's been great. Things are moving along smoothly except for this mistake i made with the product orders......boss told me to check my entries more carefully next time. The guys at work are so Aussie! Laid back, talking slangs constantly, occasional swearing and the like. You gotta love 'em bloaks~~

I'm still working on Rowie's transcription. It's positively horrendous!! The sounds and speeches all came out muddled. I might have to do it at his office instead....

Mother's doing this course down the Coast. So she's gonna stay with me for a month or so. I thought it was only a week! Was a little uncomfortable at the start because our living habits are so different. But i think if one of us will go mad, she is more likely to crack first . I'll try to behave. Promise. My ex-housemate gave me all her blessings :P.

Was spending time with this new girl from cell group. Gosh i can't remember the last time i dealt with someone so gentle, indecisive and......slow(?). She's one of them rare species that will take time to do everything........got a real heart of gold as well Adorable.

And a disastrous day last Sunday! Woke up at 6am for music practice, spent 2-3 hours after church fixing a friend's computer (blasted Sasser virus!). Asked Ivy whether she wants to go dinner and was promptly turned down........ but then the virus infected (computer) friend asked and she changed her mind......well i thought no point sticking around for dinner if she doesnt want to see me.....so i made a dash before she arrives . But before i can succesfully make the dash, I had to fight and wrestle with this virus infected friend coz she just wouldn't let me go........ and to be honest with you, I do really feel bad about leaving her behind...........

Anywayz, so that night me and N decided to grab subway for dinner instead. On the way to subway N's tyre busted....... so we called RACQ and was advised that it will take around 90min for them to come to the rescue. We decided to walk to Subway first since it's just 15min walk away.......but just as we enter thru the glass door, havent even had a chance to look at the menu, N's mobile went off and the RACQ guy is arriving shortly!! We ran and ran and ran (uphill) back to the car where the RACQ guy stood leaning next to his truck with a death stare.......... *sigh*

And so the spare tyre was on. We were merrily on our way back to pick up my car instead . Off to pool! During the pool game (9 balls) I practically missed 80% of the shots...... and N.....sigh......she should've been a golf player. Hole in one with the white!! There are also a few of long-lining-up-but-hitting-nothing sort of shots.......

In the end, my team lost (N was on the other one.....so you can imagine how disgusting that outcome is)

Continuing on....... after pool is coffee time...since the loser has to shout coffee The guys suggested playing mahjong afterwards. Guess by 6am the next morning, who's the biggest loser? Moi!!!!! boohoooo~~~~~ and i've gone thru 24 hours without sleep~~~! That's gotta be the poopiest day i've had in the past year. Was fun though .

Tuesday night was N's b'day dinner. Nice day (obviously a day worth celebrating), nice people, nice food. I took about 70 photos throughout the night Good memories. i'm gonna miss her when she's gone.

I think i'd better stop here. Losing my concentration again (JessB's famous 30sec attention span). More coming later on~~

So~~ I got the job.

They were suppose to try this other person next week......to decide who they'd keep. Well guess the manager didn't want to go thru all that hassle . PTL for His goodness to me!!
